Our core values
Found People Find Others
We want to pursue and maintain real relationships with those not yet having faith in Christ as Jesus did. In loving, serving and walking with them we encourage every member of His body to take the opportunity to share the “Good News” about Jesus and invite them to be part of His family.
We Always Have A Next Step
Though we are fully reconciled to God upon receiving the Gift of Salvation, He continues to transform us throughout our lives to become more like Christ. So no matter where you are in your walk with God, there is always a next step to take.
Jesus Followers Serve People
Jesus was a servant. He loved and served His church as well as others he came in contact with. So we respond by taking opportunities to serve with our time, abilities and resources as we respond, becoming more like Jesus.
You Cannot Outgive God
Money is the number one god that we run to other than the One True God (Matthew 6:24). Giving allows us to be obedient to God’s word demonstrating our dependence, devotion and worship of Him above all others. Followers of Jesus should be the most generous people (2 Corinthians 9:6-9) on Earth in their support of worthy causes. God’s word tells us that we are to bring the whole tithe into the storehouse that is the local church (Malachi 3:10). There is no organization with more potential to change the world than the local church (Ephesians 3:10) and we are glad to have the opportunity to support it!
You Can’t Do This Alone
We are the “People” of God. Living as His people means we are to be regularly meeting and have real relationships with each other. The goal of living life this way is that we are encouraged to continually grow in our walk with Jesus. We find support in taking our next steps as we live life alongside fellow believers who are walking on the same road. Life is better when you live in community with God’s people.
Here And Now On Purpose
God choose the time and place each of us would be born and live. In the same way, God sent His Son to be born and live in a specific time and place. We call this time and place a culture. Jesus was immersed in His culture in order to serve it, be affected by it and identify with it. He did not participate in the sins of the culture, but rather was there on purpose serving, calling people to repentance and offering love and forgiveness. As His Body, we follow the example of Jesus Christ. We live as His people, in this place and time on purpose.
We believe
God
God is the one true creator and ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are equal parts of one God.
Jesus
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Though he has existed eternally, God sent his Son into human history to be born, live and die for all mankind. Jesus was and is both fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all man by dying on a cross. He arose from death after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit has continued to be active and powerful though time and history right up to today. He makes His presence known in our world and in our individual lives. The Holy Spiritis who makes us aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He reveals God’s word and will for our lives. He strengthens and guides the church. He empowers believers for witnessing and service by filling them and gifting them in powerful ways. He provides every believer with strength for living, understanding of God’s truth and guidance in all of life’s matters.
The Bible
The Bible is God’s word given to all mankind. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is accurate, authoritative and applicable to every part of our lives.
Humanity
All humans are made in the image of God. Although God’s original design for man was perfect and to live in fellowship with Him, we became alienated from God through disobedience. When man chose to sin, he brought evil, decay, death, both physical and spiritual into the world. As a result, all humans are born with a sinful nature and choose to sin against God. We are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through our own efforts.
Eternity
You were created by God to exist forever. After your time on this earth comes to an end, you will spend eternity in one of two places. You will either be eternally separated from God and all that he is because of your sin, or you will eternally be united with God enjoying right relationship with him because of his forgiveness and salvation through God’s Son. Our eternal destination of either heaven or hell is determined by our response to the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Salvation
Salvation is God’s gift to you if you’ll accept it. Jesus Christ is the only one who can reconcile man to God. On our own, we can never make up for our sin or do enough good things to remove the stain of sin that is on our lives. It is only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness that sin can be removed. It’s only through faith in Jesus that we are saved from sin and the penalty it demands. Our faith in Jesus Christ begins to show itself in our lives as we begin to live life the way he would have us live and do the things he would have us do. In Jesus, we are made truly alive.
The Church
Jesus calls the Church his body. He loved and died for the Church. He established the Church and gave it its incredible beauty, power and significance. As his followers we are to be committed to his teachings and to obeying all of His commands. We are to be bringing the Gospel to the world, guide people as they turn and follow Jesus. The members of Christ body are to be working together, praying for each other, sharing with each other and enjoying life as his family. The ultimate purpose of all this is to glorify the One who gave us Life. Jesus loves His Church, and so do we.
Meet the Pastor
Ron Bloom
pastor
In 2009 Pastor Ron was serving as an associate pastor in Pasadena, Ca when God began to speak to him about planting a church in the Santa Clarita Valley area. After preparing with much prayer and the support of a few friends and pastors, Mission Church was planted in October of 2012 with Pastor Ron serving as the lead pastor. By God’s grace that vision has grown into a church family where individuals and families gather to share life and serve alongside each other following Jesus.
God has given Ron a passion to help people meet Jesus as well as build up and equip believers for ministry. He loves to share God’s word and does so in a way that scripture makes sense in our everyday lives.
Ron married his wife Stephanie in 1990 and raised two sons, Riley and Aiden in Santa Clarita. They’re always looking forward to what God has next for their family, church and community.
